Taiwan 2050 Net-Zero
Scientific evidence has shown that the impact of climate change is already quite urgent, and the issue of climate change has attracted much international attention and requires global engagement. Various countries have been making declarations and actions for "2050 Net-Zero Emissions". On February 15, 2023, the President announced the amendment to revise the Greenhouse Gas Management Act as the Climate Change Response Act, incorporating the 2050 net-zero emissions target.

Net-Zero Roadmap

This net-zero blueprint aims to promote technology R&D and innovation in key areas, guide the green transition of industries, and drive a new wave of economic growth.

Climate Governance

The Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Act (the Act) was promulgated by the President on July 1 2015 as the foundation of climate mitigation. The Act stresses the importance of cooperation among central government ministries as well as the responsibility at local levels, and requests the central competent authority to develop and implement the National Climate Change Action Guideline and the National GHG Reduction Action Plan.

GHG Inventory

Taiwan carried out the statistics and compilation of greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with instructions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Publications

Taiwan continues to follow the international standards recognized by the UNFCCC and publish the National Communication, the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report, and the Intended Nationally Determined Contribution.
